Thomas Stacey was born in Appledore, Devon in November 1895. Called up as a Seaman in the Royal Naval Reserve on the outbreak of hostilities, his earlier appointments included Vivid, Orcoma, Drake and President III. Stacey was killed in action on 18 June 1918, when the steamer Norfolk Coast was torpedoed and sunk by a German submarine 23 miles S.E. of Flamborough Head, East Yorkshire. He was one of eight men killed in the attack; sold with copied service papers.
