Emrys James Thomas Jeremy was born in March 1922, and served in the ranks for a year and 22 days before receiving an Emergency Commission as Second Lieutenant in the Royal Artillery, in September 1943. He advanced to Lieutenant in December 1944, and served as Temporary Captain at the Middle East School of Artillery, March - December 1946. He was promoted to Major in June 1956, and retired in August 1958. Jeremy died in Cheltenham in 1990.

Sold with the following related documents: two photographs, including one of recipient in uniform; a number of propaganda leaflets for Indian Independence; a copy of Far East, Companion Journal to “The Prisoner of War”, November 1945 and a number of contemporary newspaper cuttings.
