(Selina Huntingdon) in the centre’, later pencilled annotation ‘Chapel was in Exmouth St…’ above, 90 x 61mm. Very fine and very rare £100-150

Spa Fields Chapel, formerly the Pantheon, was appropriated as a place of worship by Selina, Countess of Huntingdon (1707-91). Described as ‘a plain brick building with a high domical roof and lantern’, capable of accommodating up to 2,000 people, it was demolished in 1879
