24th (2nd Warwickshire) Regiment Officer’s Helmet Plate 1878 - 1881, a very fine and extremely rare example, crowned star pattern backplate with laurel and Garter overlays, in the centre on a ground of black leather the Sphinx/XXIV, complete with all three loop fasteners, some crazing to the leather background and the gilt requires some gentle cleaning otherwise very good condition £600-800
