Montgomeryshire Rifle Volunteers Insignia c. 1861 - 1872/76, comprising an officer’s fine quality shako badge in die stamped silver coloured metal to the 2nd Montgomeryshire Rifles (Welshpool), depicting a crowned circle ‘Montgomeryshire Rifles’, in the centre crossed leeks over ‘2’, at the bottom a scroll ‘Volunteers’, two loop fasteners; 1st Montgomeryshire RVs (Newtown) an officer’s shako badge in die stamped bronzed brass with central plated mount, this being the Welsh dragon within unit title ‘1st Montgomeryshire Rifle Volunteers’, two loop fasteners; other ranks waist belt clasp of standard 1855 infantry pattern in bronze with central mount being a plated Welsh dragon, very fine condition (3) £500-700

Note: The 1st Corps was disbanded in 1872 and the 2nd in 1876.
