P.D. Greenall (
BNJ 1991) considered that Eagle Street was in the Holborn area, but it is not clear why he came to that conclusion. A Richard Dixon is recorded in the Spitalfields area in the Hearth Tax Return for Lady Day 1666, so it is more likely that the Eagle Street in that location (also known as Grey Eagle Street) was the place of issue. Unusually, BW. 900 appears to place the initial of the surname on the bottom right of the triad of initials, where the wife’s initial would usually be found
