Pair: Lieutenant Henry Hilliard, 28th Foot, wounded at Waterloo

Military General Service 1793-1814, 2 clasps, Busaco, Albuhera (Hy. Hilliard, Lieut. 28th Foot.); Waterloo 1815 (Lieut. Henry Hilliard, 28th Regiment Foot.) fitted with steel original clip and ring suspension, some small edge bruises, otherwise very fine and better (2) £6000-8000

Henry Hilliard was appointed Ensign in the 28th Foot on 25 February 1808, and was promoted to Lieutenant on 16 November 1809. He served in the Peninsula with the 2/28th from July 1809 to July 1811, and with the 1/28th from August 1811 to February 1813, being present at Busaco, Campo Mayo, 1st siege of Badajoz, Albuhera, Arroyo dos Molinos, and Almaraz. He was also present in the Waterloo campaign of 1815 and was wounded at Quatre Bras on 16 June. Hilliard served in Malta and the Ionian Islands from 1817 to 1829. He exchanged as Lieutenant to the 43rd Foot in October 1820, but in March 1821 exchanged back to the 28th Foot as Paymaster. In February 1836 he took up appointment as Paymaster of the 68th Foot. He was placed on half-pay on 10 May 1839, and was still living in 1878.
