Private Charles Napier Reed, Gloucestershire Regiment, entered the France/Flanders theatre of war on 31 March 1915. He received a commission on 6 July 1915. As a Lieutenant in the 12th (Service) Battalion (3rd Gwent) South Wales Borderers, he was killed in action at Bourlon Wood, 24 November 1917. Having no known grave, his name is commemorated on the Cambrai Memorial, Louverall. He was the son of Mr C. H. Reed, of 35 Fields Road, Newport, Monmouthshire. With copied m.i.c. and casualty details.
