John Williams was born in Burry Port, Carmarthen; lived in Dafen, Carmarthen and enlisted at Llanelly. As a Private in the 12th Battalion South Wales Borderers, he was killed in action at Bourlon Wood, 25 November 1917. Having no known grave, his name is commemorated on the Cambrai Memorial, Louveral.
