61st (South Gloucestershire) Regiment Officer’s 1855 - 61 Pattern Shako Plate, Large Bullion Sphinx/Egypt Forage Cap Badge, Dress and Undress Sword Knots, Small Coatee Button, the very fine shako plate of standard pattern comprising a crowned gilt eight pointed star mounted with the Garter Proper enclosing ‘61’ on a ground of black patent leather, complete with both fastening shanks; large bullion forage cap badge measures 6.5 x 4.3 cms, the Sphinx in gold bullion, the Egypt plinth in silver bullion with gold lettering, the size would indicate that this was worn without the addition of the numerals ‘61’; the dress sword knot of regulation pattern in gold and crimson metal thread, the undress knot of soft white leather with metal thread finial; the small coatee button by Jennens and Co., London displays the crown over 61 within a single line circle, the dress sword knot with one small repair otherwise in very fine overall condition (5) £600-900
