Edward the Confessor (1042-1066), Penny, Short Cross type, Colchester, Brunhyse, brvnhyse on co, 1.06g/6h (Turner –; Freeman 24; FEJ 215, same dies; N 818; S 1175). Small chip at 7 o’clock, otherwise good very fine and extremely rare; only one specimen (FEJ 215) listed by Freeman (£300-350)
