Guy Wyndham Sich (1898-1958), b. Chiswick, educ. Norland Place, Notting Hill, Rose Hill, Banstead and Winchester College (1911-17); Household Brigade Officer’s Cadet battalion, commissioned into Special Reserve of the Grenadier Guards; wounded in the fourth battle of Ypres, April 1918; Magdalen College, Oxford, 1919-22; theology student at St Edmund’s College, Ware, and the Procure of St Sulpice, Rome, 1922-8, ordained 1927; headmaster at the Oratory School, Caversham, 1931-3; priest at Our Lady of Victories, Kensington, 1937-40; excommunicated for marrying Jean Theobald, 1941; Cabinet secretariat and Foreign Office, 1942-50 and 1952-7.
