Lieutenant Charles Nott was born at West Derby, Liverpool in 1891 and educated at Marlborough College. He served in France and Flanders from 12 March 1915, receiving his commission the following month. He was killed in action at Loos on 8 October 1915 and received a posthumous mention in despatches having been recommended for a Military Cross. The Roll of Honour, Volume II refers.
