Charles Tabor was born in Ryde, Isle of Wight. A Wheelwright by trade, he attested for short service with the Royal Artillery at Woolwich on 5 January 1900, aged 30 years. Served as a Bombardier Wheelwright with the 39th Battery in South Africa, January 1900-February 1901. Discharged on 20 March 1901 at the termination of his period of service. With copied service papers and roll extract.
