George Partridge was born in Leicester. A Labourer by occupation and a member of the 3rd Battalion Leicestershire Regiment (Militia), he attested for the Royal Artillery at Leicester on 31 January 1898, aged 18 years, 3 months. He served in Gibraltar, May 1898-January 1900 and South Africa, January 1900-February 1904. Served in the 2nd Company Southern Division R.G.A. Discharged medically unfit, 15 March 1904. With copied service papers and roll extracts. Additionally awarded the King’s medal with two clasps.
