Myles Dixon was born in Ulverston, Lancashire. A Miner by occupation, he attested for the Royal Artillery at Sunderland on 6 June 1891, aged 22 years, 6 months. He served with the R.H.A. in India, November 1892-February 1899 and was then transferred to the Army Reserve. Recalled in October 1899, he served with ‘R’ Battery R.H.A. in South Africa, October 1899-August 1902. Re-transferred to the Reserve in May 1903 and discharged in June that same year. With copied service papers.
