Ernest Clarke was born in West Fordington, Dorset and enlisted at Dorchester. Serving with the 1st Battalion Dorsetshire Regiment he entered the France/Flanders theatre of war on 16 August 1914. Entitled to clasp to 1914 Star. He was killed in action, France/Flanders, on 4 May 1915.

Walter Poole was born in Beaminster, Dorset and enlisted at Bridport. Serving in the 5th Battalion Dorsetshire Regiment he was killed in action, France/Flanders, on 26 September 1916. Having no known grave, his name is commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial.

Alfred Edward Wills was born in Herringstone, Dorchester, lived at Shaftsbury, and enlisted at Dorchester. Serving with the 5th Battalion Dorsetshire Regiment, he was killed in action, France/Flanders, on 26 September 1916, aged 25 years. Having no known grave, his name is commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial. He was the son of Alfred and Laura Wills, of ‘Nesta’, Columbia Road, Ensbury Park, Bournemouth. With copied research.
