Frederick Randell was born in Harnham East, Salisbury, Wiltshire and lived and enlisted at Salisbury. Serving with the 1st Battalion Wiltshire Regiment, he entered the France/Flanders theatre of war on 14 August 1914. At some later stage he was captured and died as a prisoner-of-war on 11 March 1915. He was buried in the Stahnsdorf, S.W. Cemetery, Berlin. His name is also commemorated on the Salisbury City War Memorial.
