Frank Knight was born and lived in Wilsford, Wiltshire. A Labourer by occupation, he attested for the 3rd Battalion Wiltshire Regiment (Militia) at Devizes on 16th March 1900. With the 3rd Battalion Wiltshire Regiment he served on St. Helena, 20 June 1901-11 September 1902. He was disembodied on 11 September 1902. During the Great War he served with the 7th Battalion Wiltshire Regiment. Serving in Salonika, he was killed in action on 24 April 1917. His name is commemorated on the Doiran Memorial. Frank Knight was the son of Thomas Knight, of Durrington, Salisbury and husband of Lilian Eva Knight, of 28 Redcliff Street, Even, Swindon. With copied militia service papers and casualty details.
