II, D.W.R.); Egypt, Order of the Nile, 5th Class breast badge, silver, gold and enamel, mounted for display, last with Bichai case and card box of issue, generally nearly extremely fine (7) £300-350

2nd Lieutenant W. H. Lowder, Duke of Wellington’s Regiment, was appointed a War Substantive Lieutenant and Honorary Captain on 11 February 1943.

Sold with original bestowal document for the Order of the Nile (in Arabic), with envelope; original ‘Permission to Wear’ dated 7 April 1942; W.W.2 medal forwarding slip and British Forces Identification Card, dated 1944 and bearing the recipient’s photograph. The medals and papers contained in a modern case.
