Lawrence Easton Wood, a native of Shoreditch in London, who was born in June 1881, enlisted in the Royal Naval Air Service in December 1915. He subsequently served at Otranto in Italy from April 1917 to May 1918, and at Howden Airship Base back in the U.K. from the latter month until January 1919.
