James Davidson was born in the Parish of Kingussie, near Pitmain, Inverness, and enlisted into the 92nd Highlanders at Aberdeen on 29 June 1804, aged 20 years. He was present with the Regiment at the actions of Kioge [1807], Corunna, Almeida, Fuentes D’Onor, Arroyo del Molinos, Alba de Tormes, Vittoria, Heights of Maya, Donna Maria, Bayonne, Hellette, Garris, Orthes, and Aire. He was not present at Waterloo and after almost eight years service in the West Indies, was discharged due to ‘Length of Service’ at Edinburgh on 17 July 1827. Sold with copy discharge papers.
