Military General Service 1793-1814, 1 clasp, Toulouse (Chas. Oseland, Corpl. 39th Foot) edge bruising, otherwise nearly very fine £400-500

Charles Oseland was born at St Andrews, Worcester, and attested for the 39th Foot at Portsmouth on 3 December 1813, aged nineteen, having been a member of the Worcestershire Militia since October 1810. His service papers record that he served ‘three years and nine months in France, nine months in North America, and was present at the Battle of Toulouse, and Lake Champlain, North America, the remainder at home.’ He was promoted Corporal on 25 December 1823, and discharged in June 1834. Sold with copy service papers.
