John Humphries (Humphreys) was born in the Parish of Derwoland, near Enniskillen, Co. Fermanagh, and enlisted into the 4th Foot on 12 February 1808, aged twenty-one. He served for seven years 160 days and was discharged at Deal on 21 July 1815, in consequence of ‘a wounded left side at New Orleans in America on the 8th of January 1815 by Grape Shot.’ Sold with copy discharge papers.
