Robert Gordon Paul qualified as a L.R.C.P., L.R.C.S. Edinburgh; L.R.F.P.S. Glasgow 1927 and F.R.C.S. Edinburgh in 1931. He was Consultant Surgeon to the United Bristol Hospitals, Cossham Hospital and Devizes & District Hospital and was Lecturer in Operational Surgery at Bristol University. He was sometime Brigadier Consultant Surgeon to the South Army, India Command. A Beaverbrook Research Fellow, University of Bristol, 1934-35; he was a Fellow of the Association of Surgeons of Great Britain.
