Pair: Engine Room Artificer S. Quick, Royal Navy

Egypt and Sudan 1882-89, dated reverse, no clasp (E.R. Artfr., H.M.S. “Ruby”); Royal Navy L.S. & G.C., V.R., narrow suspension (Saml. Quick, Eng. Rm. Artfr., H.M.S. Indus) impressed naming, some contact marks, very fine (2) £140-180

Samuel Quick was born in Exeter, Devonshire on 6 September 1858. Entering the Royal Navy as an Acting Engine Room Artificer on 25 May 1880, he was confirmed in that rank in April 1882. Served on Ruby, May 1880-December 1882, seeing service in the Egypt War 1882. Promoted to Chief Engine Room Artificer in July 1891 when on Speedwell. Pensioned ashore on 23 May 1900.
