George Thomas Martin served as a Gunner in the R.G.A. during the Boer War. Employed as a Constable in the South African Railways, he was taken on to the strength of the S.A.H.A. on 1 July 1918, aged 39 years. Posted to 552 South African Siege Battery, arriving in England on 28 September 1918. Demobilized at Maitland, Cape Province, 30 May 1919. With copied Great War service papers and Boer War roll extract.
