John Glasspool was born and lived in Overton, Hampshire and enlisted at Winchester. Serving with the 1st Battalion Hampshire Regiment he was killed in action on 11 October 1915. He was buried in the Hamel Military Cemetery, Beaumont-Hamel, Somme, France.
