Æthelred II (978-1016), Penny, CRVX type, Lympne, Leofric, leofric m¯o limn, reads edered, 1.47g/6h (SCBI Helsinki 84 and South-Eastern Museums 843, same dies; SCBI Copenhagen 515; BEH 1614; BMC –; N 770; S 1148). Peckmarked, surface stress crack at 12 o’clock penetrating to the portrait, otherwise nearly very fine and iridescently toned, very rare £400-£500
