Daniel Morris was born in Mold, Flintshire, and attested for the Royal Welsh Fusiliers on 13 August 1885, aged 19. He was promoted Corporal in 1890 and Lance Sergeant in 1892, a rank he held until discharge in July 1902. His intended place of residence on discharge was Vicarage Hill, Rhostyllen, Wrexham.

Also awarded the India General Service Medal with clasp Hazara 1891; and the King’s South Africa Medal with both date clasps.
