Egypt and Sudan 1882-89, dated reverse, 3 clasps, Tel-El-Kebir, Suakin 1885, Tofrek (Surgeon, A.M. Dept.); Queen’s South Africa 1899-1902, 4 clasps, Cape Colony, Orange Free State, Transvaal, South Africa 1901 (Lt. Col., R.A.M.C.); Khedive’s Star 1882, unnamed, mounted for wear, minor edge bruising and pitting, very fine and better (3) £600-700

John Osburne was born on 31 July 1856.

He entered the Army as a Surgeon, afterwards Surgeon-Captain on 5 February 1881, was promoted to Surgeon-Major in February 1893 and attained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in July 1901.

Placed on Retired Pay in January 1902 but employed when on Retired List at Galway, 1904-16.
