Several men with these names/initials; possibly Stoker 1st Class John Henry Powell, Royal Navy, who was killed in action on 2 May 1917, aged 21 years, when the destroyer H.M.S. Derwent was mined and sunk. He was the son of Lucy Elizabeth Bird (formerly Powell) and Thomas H. Bird (stepfather) of 8 Rifle Street, Poplar, London.
