Private William Earl Buxton, 9th Battalion Border Regiment, was killed in action at Imphal on 14 May 1944, aged 21 years. The son of William Earl and Eva Buxton of Middleton, Manchester; he was buried in Imphal War Cemetery. Sold with named condolence slip and card medal forwarding box addressed to ‘Mrs Buxton, 9 Old Hall St., Middleton, Manchester’.
