1939-45 Star; Pacific Star; War Medal 1939-45, unnamed as issued; together with Prize Medal, 32mm., bronze, rev. inscribed, ‘137 Battery R..A. Nov. Intake 1940. Winning Squad No.13, Gunner Guile W.H.’, extremely fine (4) £70-90

Gunner William Henry Guile, 6th Heavy Anti-Aircraft Regiment, R.A., was captured at Priok, Java on 28 March 1942. He was held on the island until September the same year when he was transferred to Borneo where he remained until the end of the war. Sold with card medal forwarding box addressed to ‘Mr W. H. Guile, 56 Cranworth Rd., Worthing, Sussex’; a letter addressed to the recipient re. his medal entitlement, and copied P.O.W. records.
