Three: Private A. A. Burles, Cambridgeshire Regiment, killed in action in Malaya, 15 January 1942

Private Archibald Albert Burles, 2nd Battalion Canbridgeshire Regiment, was killed in action, at Bahu Pahat, Malaya, on 25 January 1942, aged 24 years. Having no known grave, his name is commemorated on the Singapore Memorial. Burles was the son of Mrs H. Burles of Enfield, Middlesex; before the war he had worked for The Edison Swan Electric Company. Sold with named condolence slip and named Buckingham Palace condolence slip; together with copied extract from a regimental history and photocopied photo of recipient.
