John Henry Platt was born in and enlisted at Widnes, Lancashire. Serving with “A” Company, 2nd Battalion South Wales Borderers, he was killed in action on 29 September 1918, aged 19 years. He was buried in the Zantvoorde British Cemetery, Zonnebeke, West Vlaanderen, Belgium. He was the son of John and Maggie Platt of 11 Bank Street, Widnes.
