1914 Star, with clasp (9992 Pte., 2/Essex R.) initials given as ‘J.W.’ on this medal; British War and Victory Medals (9992 Pte., Essex R.) last with official correction to unit; together with memorial plaque (William John Thomas Humphrey); and original C.W.G.C. Register for Helles Memorial, Gallipoli, which includes recipients name, good very fine or better (4) £200-250

William John Thomas Humphrey was born at Sidcup, Kent and lived and enlisted at Ilford, Essex. He died of wounds (at sea) received at Gallipoli on 9 August 1915 whilst serving with the 1st Battalion, Essex Regiment. His name is commemorated on the Helles Memorial, Gallipoli.
