John Martin Looscan was born in Kilcommon, Co. Mayo. A Clerk by occupation, he attested for the Border Regiment in September 1865, aged 20 years. He served overseas in India from January 1872 to April 1873, otherwise his army service was confined to home. He was awarded the L.S. & G.C. Medal with a gratuity in 1884. Sold with copied service papers.
