Staff Sergeant Arthur Davis Connan, 2/2 Pioneer Battalion, Australian Infantry, died as a prisoner-of-war of the Japanese on 14 September 1944, aged 33 years. Believed to have died in Borneo, he has no known grave; his name is commemorated on the Labuan Memorial, Malaysia. He was the son of Alexander Davidson and Helen Agnes Connan of Coburg, Victora. His service number indicates pre-war service in the Victoria State Militia.
