Indian Mutiny 1857-59, no clasp (2nd Lieut. J. H. Waller, 1st Madras Fusrs.) slight contact marks, minor edge bruising, nearly very fine £300-350

John Hampden Waller was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the Royal Madras Fusiliers on 21 March 1858 and saw service in the Oude Campaign of 1858, being present at the capture of the fort of Kaili. Promoted Lieutenant on 23 March 1863, he was seconded to the 28th Foot in June 1866. He retired by the sale of his commission in April 1867. Waller joined the Honourable Corps of Gentlemen-at-Arms on 24 August 1870, and was still with them in 1903.
