Company Sergeant Major Thomas Langstone Choake was born, lived and enlisted at Carlisle. He was killed in action in France and Flanders on 28 June 1915 whilst serving with the 2nd Battalion, Border Regiment.

Hugh George Ward was born at Peshawar, India and lived at Fulham, Middlesex. He was killed in action in France and Flanders on 24 October 1914 whilst serving with the 2nd Battalion, South Lancashire Regiment.
