Queen’s South Africa 1899-1902, 4 clasps, Cape Colony, Orange Free State, Transvaal, South Africa 1902 (7439 Pte., Lanc. Fus.); 1914 Star, with clasp (7439 Pte., 2/Lan. Fus.) surname spelt ‘Peate’ on this medal; British War and Victory Medals (7439 Pte., Lan. Fus.) first with tightened suspension claw and edge bruising, therefore nearly very fine, otherwise good very fine (4) £180-220

J. Peat was taken prisoner of war at Boschbult on 31 March 1902 and subsequently released, whilst serving with the 1st Battalion, Lancashire Fusiliers, attached 28th Mounted Infantry.
