Three: Assistant Inspector of Hospitals A. Farquhar

Crimea 1854-56, 1 clasp, Sebastopol (Omer Pacha. Asst. Inspr. of Hospls. Alex. Farquhar, Staff O..), officially impressed naming, the suspension claw obscures some letters; Turkish Crimea 1855, Sardinian issue, unnamed, pierced with ring and scroll suspension, these two with silver buckles on ribbon; Turkey, Order of Medjidie, 3rd Class neck badge, silver, gold and enamel, slight edge bruising and contact marks, nearly very fine and better (3) £500-550

Alexander Farquhar, L.S.A. 1833, M.R.C.S. 1838, F.R.C.S. 1856. Qualified as a Surgeon in 1838 and practised in Chelsea until 1845. Then, moving to Alexandria he was employed at the Marine Hospital. At the time of the Crimea War he was based at Eupatoria and Trebizond, where he served on the Staff of Omar Pacha. He later lived in Aberdeenshire. Sold with a few handwritten notes.
