Royal Naval French Revolutionary War Period Silver, an historic presentation visiting card salver, hallmarked London 1802, by ‘WB’, of oval shape with four pad-foot bracket shaped feet, the rim of raised reeded design, the central reserve with engraved outer decorative band and an inner one enclosing the badge of a phoenix rising from the flames, the reverse engraved ‘Presented by the Bengal Phoenix Insurance Society To Captn P Gordon of the Wellesley for defending that Ship against a French Frigate of 36 Guns on the Coast of Brazil the 9th of August 1800’, 6.75 x 5 inches, very good condition £300-500
