Bombardment of Hartlepool 16 December 1914, two fine and scarce commemorative items, both sold to raise funds for local hospitals, the first a bar brooch in gilt metal and enamels depicts a coastal scene with casualties being assisted away, scrolls and the border inscribed ‘Thank Offering to the Hartlepools Hospitals For Services Rendered Dec 16th 1914’; the second of medal format with narrow crimson silk ribbon in base metal and enamels ‘Ye did it to mine’ ‘Ye did it to me’ ‘Thank offering to the Hartlepools Hospitals in Memory of Dec 16th 1914’, central motif of an RA cannon with the dates 1915 and 1916, very good condition (2) £40-60
