Military Medal, G.V.R. (21587 Pte., 21/Manch. R.) slight contact marks, very fine £200-240

M.M. London Gazette 17 December 1917.

William Greenhalgh was born in Chorley, Lancashire, and living at Ashton-under-Lyne, enlisted at Manchester. Serving with the 21st Battalion Manchester Regiment he was awarded the M.M. for bravery. He died of wounds, France/Flanders on 26 October 1917, aged 23 years. He was buried in the Lijssenthoek Military Cemetery, Poperinge, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium.
