William Towler was born in Ancoats, Manchester and enlisted at Manchester. Serving with the 1/8th Battalion Manchester Regiment, he died of wounds at Gallipoli, 29 May 1915, aged 18 years. He was buried in the Lancashire Landing Cemetery. He was the son of Ellen and the late Joseph Henry Towler of 27 Bolton Street, Gorton, Manchester.
