Corporation of Glasgow Bravery Medal, 1st type, silver, (Alfred Armour), with faint hallmarks, complete with ‘Gallantry’ brooch bar, in Edward, Glasgow case of issue, nearly extremely fine £180-220

The 1st type medal, 38mm. in diameter, was manufactured by Edwards, Jewellers and Silversmiths of Buchanan Street, Glasgow, and issued in gold and in silver between the years 1925-1934.

Alfred Armour, of 35 North Oswald Street, Townhead. Awarded on 26 October 1926. ‘... who on 10th August rescued a boy from drowning in the Monkland Canal at a point near Castle Street’.
