William Mercer was born and lived in Oldham and enlisted at Ashton-under-Lyne. Serving with the 1st Battalion Manchester Regiment, he was killed in action, France/Flanders, on 21 December 1914. Having no known grave, his name is commemorated on the Le Touret Memorial.

Harry Moore was born in and enlisted at Darwen, Lancashire. Serving with the 1/4th Battalion East Lancashire Regiment, he was killed in action, Gallipoli, on 9 June 1915, aged 27 years. His name is commemorated on the Helles Memorial. He was the son of Arthur Edward and Elizabeth Anne Moore of 39 Punstock Road, Darwen.

George Watkinson was born in and enlisted at Southport. Serving in the 7th Battalion Loyal North Lancashire Regiment, he died in France, 25 August 1916 and was buried in the Fillievres British Cemetery, Pas de Calais, France.
