Indian Mutiny 1857-59, 1 clasp, Lucknow (Serjt. Humpy. Cartwright, 2nd Bn. Rifle Bde.) nearly extremely fine £200-250

Humphery Cartwright was born in the parish of St. Margaret’s, Leicester. A bricklayer by occupation, he attested for service with the Rifle Brigade on 17 November 1840, aged 18 years, 2 months. He was discharged as being unfit for further service 24 June 1862. In addition to the above he was in receipt of the Crimea, India General Service and Long Service medals. Sold with copied discharge papers and roll extract.
